Blogging can be thought of as a type of creativity where one uses the written word to convey feelings and emotions. People who blog are artistic in that they pay close attention not only to what words best describe themselves but also to how those same phrases would sound when spoken by another person or animal

Either way, blogging takes skillful utilization from both speech production skills (drilling down on enunciation)  and vocabulary knowledge

What is a Blog

The definition of blogging is where you write about your thoughts, opinions, and experiences on the world around us. Blogs can be very personal or professional in tone depending upon what it’s geared towards – whether that would just happen to include sharing some recipes with friends every now and again but also if one has created an outlet for publishing articles related to the research they’ve worked hard at getting published elsewhere online too!

The term “blog” (a truncation) means a discussion webpage consisting primarily of 15 discrete diary-style text entries called posts

In a nutshell, I refer to it as a journal

Types of Blogs

With the rise of social media and blogging, it’s more important than ever to have your own personal site or blog that reflects who you really are. The opportunity for businesses has increased exponentially with this new technology because they can now establish themselves online through articles written by experts in their field which will be very useful when readers come across them on any number of devices where access is available- including smartphones!

This article provides helpful tips about starting up a successful business blog

There are many different types of blogs you can create. Popular types include lifestyle blogs, travel blogs, food blogs, business blogs, fashion blogs, health and wellness blogs, DIY blogs, craft blogs, and sports blogs. Additionally, you can create a blog about any topic that interests you!

How to Start a Blog

Blog Niche

The first to starting BLOG IS knowing exactly what you want to blog about, and the audience you want to educate.

A blog niche is a specific topic or area of interest that a blog focuses on. It could be something as broad as “sports” or as specific as “women’s basketball in the 1990s”. Having a niche blog allows you to become an expert in that area and build an audience of people who are interested in the same topic.

Narrow down your Audience

To go further as far as securing your niche, it is important to narrow your niche down to a specific group of people, places, or things.

For instance, it is one thing to discuss “birds” as your niche, but what specifically about birds can you focus on?  There are many aspects to birds that you can write about: Focus on just a particular thing about birds such as types of birds, one type of bird, bird nutrition, etc. Your content should hone in on speaking to a targeted area of your topic. Another example would be one who trains and/or coach people in the Network Marketing community. I actually know a coach who coaches just women in Network Marketing.

Once you are clear on the type of blog you want to write and have narrowed down your audience, you are well on your way. Blogging is one of the most popular avenues to creating and making passive Income. Why? Because there are so many different ways to make Passive Income in just one blog.

Secure your Domain

Now we all have our different notions on starting a blog and what is most important and should come first. For me, I would suggest securing your domain. Believe it or not, this has become an issue a time or two in the past.

You know those times we come up with a bomb ass name for our project only to find out someone else has it? Including the domain Even worse there are some cases where folks chose to use a domain without doing the proper research. This caused a legal battle and resulted in the person using the name having to change all material and intellectual property to a new name.

Imagine building a brand for months or years, and receiving a cease and desist after all of the hard work and time you put in to get your name out there. So, once you do your research, secure .com, .org, and .co. Yep, I said it….get it all so nobody gets your domain confused with another, just secure it all.

You can also take it a bit further and get it trademarked, which is what most brands do. ph and by the way, if you go with the host that I suggest in the next section, you will get a Free domain with the hosting package.

Hosting

So now it’s time to set up your blog. The first thing I suggest is that you own your own blog. Although we all look for the most inexpensive ways to start a blog. It’s best that you spend a few dollars to pay for hosting instead of getting free hosting and ill tell you why:

You have limited control over your blog content. For instance, many moons ago I owned a sex blog. I featured sex toys and best “practices” LOL. As you could imagine, most free platforms don’t allow any type of sexual content. To be honest, most paid hosting platforms don’t even allow it either. I had to search far and wide, but I was able to find hosting that allowed sexual content. I was able to run my blog exactly how I wanted to. I was able to post pics, links, and videos if I wanted. Unfortunately, I lost my blog to bots and my blog not being secure which we will touch on security in a bit.

So let’s back up what is Hosting and why is it so important. Hosting is a network where a website is parked. It houses all of your stored files that make up your website such as your designs, content, photo, videos, etc.

There are regular websites, and then there are blogs, the two are totally different.

WordPress is a great platform for blogging! It is easy to use and allows you to customize your blog with a variety of themes, plugins, and other features. It’s also free, so you don’t have to worry about any upfront costs. To get started, you’ll need to create an account and then follow the step-by-step instructions provided. Once you’ve done that, you can begin to customize your blog and start adding content. Good luck with your blogging journey!

WordPress is the master platform of all blogging, in my opinion. When someone mentions blogging, WordPress is usually the first thing that comes to mind. The great thing is 90% of all hosting Networks house WordPress.

Monetization

Monetization is the process of converting a product or service into money. It is the process of generating revenue from the use of a product or service. The term is most commonly used to refer to the process of converting digital or online products or services into money. This can include things like selling advertising space on a website, offering premium services or content, or charging for access to an online course. Monetization can also refer to the process of turning physical products and services into money, such as charging admission to an event or selling merchandise.

Monetizing your blog is a great way to make money online. There are a variety of methods to do this, including affiliate marketing, advertising, selling products, and creating sponsored content. Before you start, it’s important to create content that is valuable and relevant to your target audience. Once you have built up your readership, you can start to explore monetization options. Affiliate marketing is a great way to start, as you can earn commission from sales you refer to from your blog.

Advertising is another popular option, and you can use platforms such as Google Adsense to start. If you have products or services you offer, you can also promote these on your blog. Finally, you can create sponsored content for businesses that want to reach your audience. Whatever option you choose, it’s important to be mindful of your readers and provide value.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing is probably the #1 way that most blogs are monetized. Affiliate Marketing is the process of promoting other people’s products OPP LOL is Known as the bread and butter of blog monetization. Let’s face it, if you’re new at this, then you don’t have your own products created, you’re a newbie getting your feet wet, so affiliate marketing makes sense as a way to get started in creating revenue.

Be sure to check out my Guide post on Affiliate Marketing in depth.

Sell Ad Space

Once your blog gets a certain amount of traffic, it would be lucrative to sell ad space on your blog to relevant content creators. This is very popular and has known to be a great way of generating passive income.

There are a few ways you can do this: You can sell by size, time duration or both

Ad Size can be as small of a business card size as you may post on your footer.  It could also be as big as a full or half page on your blog which is promoted on the homepage. It’s your blog you decide how it goes.

Ad Location is also very important. A nice big Banner promoted at the top of the homepage or posted on the sidebar can come with a bigger price tag versus a small ad in the website’s footer section.

Google Adsense

Google Adsense is an online advertising platform that helps website publishers and bloggers monetize their content. It works by displaying relevant ads on their websites or blog posts and pays them a certain percentage of the ad revenue generated. Advertisers then pay Google for the privilege of having their ads displayed on those websites. It’s a great way for website publishers to earn some extra income!

How Does Google Adsense Work

Believe it or not, Google AdSense is very simple. Once on the website, and the account is created, it will ask you the type of content you are wanting to provide or are currently providing.  There are several options to choose from that best fit your platform:

Blogging, E-commerce etc.  Once you choose the type of content, google Adsense suggests platforms you can get started on

In the example below, I chose Blogger content, so they suggested Blogger, HeyLink.me, and yoFan as possible platforms to get started.

As a newbie blogger, it is best to not put the cart before the horse. While Google Adsense is a great way to make passive income, you want to be sure that you are bringing the correct amount of traffic daily for this to work.

Most make the mistake of signing up for Google Adsense, and not making income because it’s too soon.

In conclusion, blogging can be a great source of passive income if done correctly. By creating valuable content, building an audience, and monetizing your blog through affiliate marketing, advertising, and other income streams, you can turn your passion for writing into a steady stream of income. However, it’s important to remember that blogging requires hard work, consistency, and patience. It may take time to build up your traffic and income, but the payoff can be significant. With the right strategy and persistence, blogging can be a lucrative and fulfilling way to earn passive income and achieve financial freedom.
